Wild and Full of Grit
Wild and Full of Grit is a short dance film that embraces the Wyoming landscape and fascinating western history with a fresh way of storytelling – through choreography. The film is narrated by painter Kathryn Mapes Turner as she tells stories of her grandmother, Louise Mapes Bertschy living on the Triangle X Ranch in Grand Teton National Park almost 100 years ago. Memories of Kathryn’s grandmother bleed into reflections on her own life, her artwork, and the sacred nature of the land itself. Wild and Full of Grit highlights how art, femininity, wildness and family converge in the lives of two Wyoming women.
